What a transformation, Christina looks almost unrecognizable on the newest cover for Paper magazine.
I have for many years been a big fan of girls/influencers on youtube showcasing how they beat their face to perfection. But as we get further away from the 2013 breakthrough of the heavy highlighter and contour, more minimal makeup looks are starting to trend. As many would call it, the no makeup, makeup look. Seen on a lot of runways through out the years. Wearing just enough makeup, to enhance features and make you look your best self on a good day. The key skill to get Christina’s look is to make sure to blend everything out and even. For that seamless, smooth and minimal look.
If you want to achieve this minimal natural, then look follow the steps below.
Moisturise
Moisturise your skin before applying anything else, is key for a flawless makeup look. This prepares your skin for the next steps and will help give an even and beautiful finish look.
Primer
No matter if you are going for a heavy or light make up look. A primer should always be the next step after moisturising your skin. There are so many different primers out there, that can help with different problematic areas. But for this kind of look, I only have one primer in mind. The benefit porefessional face primer. That helps minimise the appearance of pores and fine lines. This is one of the best primers I have owned and it’s affordable too. Two birds with one stone.
Highlighter
Depending on your skin, this step would only be necesarry for the person with dry skin. Applying an even and light liquid highlighter on your face, can help to get a beautiful and natural dewy look. A small amount comes a long way and for that I can recommend my favourite, the nip+fab highlighter.
If you have oily skin, like myself but still want that extra glow with a natural finish. A small amount of highlighting powder above the checks can give a beautiful glow.
Foundation
For this step I only have to foundations that I personally think does the work, both with a natural finish.
Coverage – The Fenty beauty pro filter foundation by Rihanna, needs no introduction. I think we all know this foundation by now. And even though I have never tried it before. I have seen so many good reviews of this foundation. It’s one of the few foundations, that has full coverage and still looks natural. This is the foundation for the person that wants to cover up problematic areas or dark circles without having to use a heavy amount of concealer on top.
Skin Correcting – M.A.C studio face and body foundation is the perfect foundation for the person that needs to correct the skin a little bit, for that even look. I have had this foundation for years and it so lightweight that you don’t even feel like you have anything on.
The foundation below, comes in over 40+ different shades follow through the links attached to the images to find your shade:
Eyebrows
If you have perfect bushy eyebrows, then this step is not for you. But for others like myself that are lacking on bushy eyebrows or not having the right thickness. The key skill to achieve thicker natural brows is quite easy. For that I use my favourite Anastasia dip brow, the easiest eyebrow product to work with. Use a makeup brush that has the brush to apply the product and the brush to brush it out. Apply a small amount of product on the brush and make a line within the hair on the bottom of your brow and brush the product upwards. Thereafter brush the eyebrows with the brush, to make sure that’s there is no harsh lines. So you get a natural and thicker brow.
Powder
To maintain the dewy foundation look you have achieved. The perfect powder to finish the look, is a basic translucent powder.
lips
Use a simple transparent lib balm, for a soft finish touch.
Fix spray
Finish the whole look with a fix spray. To make the makeup settle in. A fix spray works like a glue. Helps to remove the extra powder and makes the whole look blend in.
Au Revoir, peepz!
